Roving Reading Teacher

By: Ms. Carolina

Hello parents!  Wow!  I want to pass on some sage advice that I just read in, Connecting which is the magazine for members of the Family Literacy Alliance.  It states that the benefits of storytelling are many.  Storybook reading is an important element of becoming a reader.  Parents can encourage their children to be active participants in the story reading process as a way to extend their oral language and knowledge of print.  Sharing stories with children is a powerful way to increase a child's interest in and attention to language.  It is also a way to strengthen the bond between parents and children.  As always, just read!
